SAN JOSE, CA – MAY 08: Erik Karlsson #65 of the San Jose Sharks looks to shoot on goal against the Colorado Avalanche during the second period in Game Seven of the Western Conference Second Round during the 2019 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs at SAP Center on May 8, 2019 in San Jose, California. San Jose Sharks (Photo by Thearon W. Erik Karlsson

Erik Karlsson will be entering his second full season in a teal uniform after being traded from the Ottawa Senators to the San Jose Sharks right before the start of training camp in 2018.

His first season with the Sharks was filled with some missed time due to injuries, but he was still able to put up three goals and 42 assists in only 53 games.

As he is now what we presume to be completely healthy, we can expect those numbers to be even greater as he will continue to play with the other All-Star defenseman on the Sharks, Brent Burns.

He’s playing with the elite defenseman in Burns and he also knows the Sharks playbook a lot better having played it in 53 regular season games and a few playoff games.

The longer the season goes on, he will get more and more comfortable wearing that teal sweater and now being an assistant captain on the team.

My prediction for the All-Star defenseman is 15 goals and 50 assists during his second season with the Sharks.
