1. Cut down/minimize turnovers

Again, this is rather obvious, but last week the turnover bug reared its ugly head.

Against the Chiefs Carr threw two interceptions which were the first two he’s thrown all season. But when playing on the road, all turnovers will do is fire up the crowd and kill that fast start idea that was mentioned earlier. He also had a fumble that Oakland was able to recover.

Most of the time, giving a team a few extra possessions could doom you. Luckily, that wasn’t the case last week. But, the Vikings could make it hurt a lot more considering they had three turnovers in Week 1 against the Falcons. So, taking care of the football will be very much key.

If the Raiders don’t cut down on their turnovers it will keep the defense on the field longer, which will help the Vikings get their running game going and get off to a fast start.

In turn, the Raiders will be playing from behind and will already be off to a slow start. None of this would be good, so turnovers are a must to be stopped.

It’s normally a given anyway that turnovers could come back to hurt, but this week it is imperative to not turn the rock over.
