1. Offense

Wow. Simply wow.

After coming out flat with a very disappointing showing in Week 1, the 49ers exploded for 41 points and 572 yards of offense. Yes, it was against an atrocious defense in Cincinnati, but it’s still encouraging nonetheless.

Kyle Shanahan had a much better day playcalling as the entire offense was firing on all cylinders. But perhaps no unit showed more improvement than the offensive line.

The five-man unit up front led the way for an absolutely incredible ground game that rushed for 259 yards and averaged 6.2 yards per carry. And this was against a pretty solid Bengals defensive line that featured the likes of Geno Atkins and Carlos Dunlap.

The line also helped Jimmy Garoppolo stay upright as he wasn’t sacked once and was only hit twice all afternoon. It was a complete 180 from their performance last week that prevented the offense from living up to their full potential.

George Kittle took a backseat role to the likes of Matt Breida, Raheem Mostert, and Deebo Samuel who became the centerpieces of the offense while the superstar tight end finished with just 54 yards on three catches.

Regardless, it’s hard to ask for anything better from an offensive performance.

Final Grade: A+
