Shaun Livingston is the Smartest Player on the Court

This next highlight comes at 1:26. It came in a regular-season game versus the Sacramento Kings. Georgios Papagiannis has the ball in the post for the Kings and Garrett Temple cuts around him.

Livingston is guarding Temple and starts to follow him around before he realizes that Papagiannis has no idea what is going on behind him.

One of Livingston’s best attributes is his defensive savvy and he hesitates for a moment as if he is thinking whether it would be too mean to steal the ball so cold-bloodedly from the big man.

He then proceeds to do just that, initiating the fast break, before dishing another behind the back pass for Draymond Green to finish with a layup.

Livingston with the Mid-range Pull-up Jumper

The mid-range is probably Livingston’s best skill as an NBA player and it felt as though there wasn’t nearly enough mid-range in this compilation. But what a great way to end this trip down memory road with the highlight at 1:46.

This came in another regular-season game against the Sacramento Kings. He strings together a few crossovers to get his man off balance and then rises up for the mid-range jumper like he’s done a million times before.

He’s a legendary player who has a chance to possibly join the Warriors coaching staff in the next few years. He’s been offering valuable advice and leadership to the team for many years now so it would make the world of sense to get him on board.

Perhaps Livingston’s best years are still ahead of him, as a coach.
