The San Francisco 49ers may have come away with the victory on Sunday, but it wasn’t their offense that got the job done. Check out our Week 1 grades for the 49ers.

The San Francisco 49ers escaped Sunday afternoon’s matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a victory in a game that was equal parts exciting as it was sloppy.

The offense struggled to move the ball for most of the day but was bailed out by some poor play from Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston and some superb defensive work.

For a 49ers team facing a lot of optimism going into 2019, an ugly win was precisely what the team needed to begin the season the right way. After all, good teams find a way to win ugly every once in a while.

There are plenty of things to be encouraged about as we treck towards Week 2 but also some things that need cleaning up.

As such, let’s take a look back and assign some grades for each positional unit from Sunday’s season opener.
