San Francisco 49ers: Game-by-game predictions for the 2019 season
Week 14: @ New Orleans Saints
We’ve reached the gauntlet of the season. The Niners are on the road once again against a fantastic opponent.
If the Niners stand at 8-4 entering this point, they’ll have the chance to prove they are one of the best teams in football. With that said, as bullish as I am on their prospects, I’m not going that far.
This time it won’t be the offense, but the defense that will have problems. While Drew Brees is up there in years, his experience will keep him from folding in the face of pressure and can slowly pick apart San Francisco’s secondary.
Expect Alvin Kamara to have a field day catching passes out of the backfield against San Francisco’s inexperienced linebackers.
San Francisco will fall behind early and a costly turnover will put the game to bed relatively early in the third quarter. They will be worn down and ready to get back home.
Prediction: L 34-20 (8-5)
