2. Bench

Cory Joseph, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Trevor Ariza, Nemanja Bjelica, Harry Giles

All of these players, except for Cory Joseph, could be potential starters on this Kings team.

Bogdan Bogdanovic and Harry Giles are both exciting young players who have a lot to offer offensively. Bogdanovic has been a streaky player early in his career, but can get scorching hot at times and win games almost single-handedly.

He can play on or off the ball alongside Joseph in the backcourt. Joseph is an excellent defender and a capable playmaker who will find the open man and run simple plays on offense.

Ariza and Bjelica are both big floor-spacers who are able to defend big wings on the defensive end also. Bjelica and Bogdanovic will be playing together at the world cup this September for Serbia, which could help their chemistry improve.

Walton should recognize this and play them together for considerable stretches with the Kings bench unit.

Giles can be the man which the offense revolves around. He is an excellent player in the high or low post, where he can distribute the ball excellently. The Kings should run lineups out there specifically to work to Giles’ strengths. This will be covered later.
