San Francisco 49ers: 4 reasons the team will win the NFC West
4. The offense is filled with weapons
Everything starts with George Kittle. His production last season gives him a solid case to be the best weapon in football. He put up yards after the catch numbers that no tight end had ever approached.
At running back, Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert both flashed big-play running ability last season and Breida showed off improved hands in last week’s preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Offseason acquisition Tevin Coleman has been one of the best pass-catching running backs in football as well. That would be a solid backfield group alone, but Kyle Juszczyk remains the best fullback in the NFL and Jerick McKinnon is set to return at some point a well.
Wide receiver has the least proven talent but has a lot of potential. Dante Pettis had a strong finish to last season. The 2018 second-round pick has the footwork ability and speed to get open with ease.
2019 draft picks Deebo Samuel and Jalen Hurd have had strong training camps and preseasons of their own. In the slot, the competition between Trent Taylor and Richie James has been one of the most fun to watch throughout camp.
Behind the youth, Marquise Goodwin and Jordan Matthews give the team solid veteran insurance as well.
Outside of Kittle, there aren’t any clear elite weapons for Kyle Shanahan to play with. Yet, every position is flush with talented players with the potential to emerge as impact stars.
