Oakland Raiders: Preseason Week 3 — Stock Up/Stock Down
By Nico Di Fede
Stock Down: Brandon Parker, OT
Despite being the fifth highest-graded offensive player in Thursday’s game against the Packers with a 70.9 grade according to Pro Football Focus, Brandon Parker did not have a good game if you were paying attention to him, which proves you cannot use PFF as the end all, be all despite how valuable and useful their grading is.
Parker almost gave up a sack on an outside rush during the Raiders first drive. On their next drive, Parker whiffed on a block attempt falling to the turf. Two plays later Parker hit the ground once again tripping while trying to pursue a lineman to block.

Parker has a problem tracking down and getting his hands on guys if they don’t shoot right towards him, which is something that should have been cleaned up by his first or second year of college, let alone by the time he got to the NFL.
On the Raiders third drive, Parker once again gave up a pressure and almost a sack trying to block rookie Rashan Gary.
He was blown all the way back almost into quarterback Mike Glennon and that is due to his poor footwork, not chopping his feet quick enough, and instead trying to just use his upper body to block.
Kolton Miller will need to have improved greatly for the left tackle position not to be a huge problem this year, especially against the tough pass rushers in the AFC West that the team will have to face twice a year.
And it doesn’t look like there is anyone behind him besides Parker outside of undrafted free agents. This could end up being a huge problem unless the team moves Trent Brown back to the left side as right tackle David Sharpe has looked decent.
