The Oakland Raiders beat the Green Bay Packers in a comeback win in a game where 41 players for the team sat, giving the young guys a chance to shine.

The Oakland Raiders came away with their third win of the preseason — this one in a second-half comeback which ended 22-21 in a sort of bizarre game in Winnipeg playing on an 80-yard field without kickoffs.

The third week of preseason is typically the week where the starters play more than they do in any other game.

But because of safety concerns due to the turf and patches in the end zone as a result of goal post removal, head coach Jon Gruden sat 41 players including all of the starters outside of punter A.J. Cole, kicker Daniel Carlson, linebacker Brandon Marshall, and defensive tackle Maurice Hurst.

The latter two were fighting for starting spots (or even a roster spot in Marshall’s case) despite being listed as the starters.

While it’s disappointing not getting to see the first-team offense and defense play multiple drives and shake some rust off, this game allowed the young guys and veterans fighting for back-up spots to show a lot as they got to play out the whole game.

Let’s go over who did well and who did not.
