The Raiders are going to have some incredibly difficult cuts to make at the receiver position this September.

But local UC Davis product Keelan Doss has done everything in his power to earn a roster spot. The undrafted rookie once again turned in an impressive showing hauling in four receptions for a team-leading 52 yards.

His most impressive catch came midway through the fourth quarter when Doss adjusted to a ball thrown to his back shoulder and made a beautiful toe-tapping reception on the sideline.

Doss has been one of Oakland’s most consistent players this preseason and it seems that he makes the most of his snaps every time he’s on the field.

With four receivers already guaranteed roster spots — Antonio Brown, Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow, and Dwayne Harris — there should be two spots available for Doss and another pass-catcher to snag.

Entering the preseason, Doss was behind many of his adversaries on the depth chart. But now, he’s looking like a favorite to land a roster spot.

The fourth preseason game will be instrumental for Doss as he looks to prove that he’s more deserving of a roster spot than players such as Ryan Grant, J.J. Nelson, and Marcell Ateman.

At the very worst, a spot on the team’s practice squad seems all but guaranteed which means that the Bay Area product should be staying local at least to begin his NFL career.
