3. Big

D’Angelo Russell, Klay Thompson, Eric Paschall, Draymond Green, Willie Cauley-Stein

It’s rare that teams go to specialist big lineups in the modern era however it is important that Steve Kerr has the option to put this lineup out there if needs be.

Russell is a tall point guard at 6-foot-5 who is able to use his height in the post against smaller guards. Thompson also has this skill in his arsenal, particularly at the elbows. Obviously, Thompson can also defend any guard or wing on the opposition effectively.

Eric Paschall is just a rookie however, he has the tools to make an impact straight away. He was a capable shooter from the three-point line in college where he shot 35% on 5.6 attempts per game in his last season at Villanova.

The rookie second-round pick is also a very versatile defender. He can defend positions three to five excellently and can even defend some two guards if needed. Paschall is similar to Green and the Warriors will be hoping that he can develop along the same path.

Cauley-Stein is a rim protector and can defend tough assignments who try to bully him in the post, like Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic, or LaMarcus Aldridge.
