Stock Up: Josh Jacobs, RB
Josh Jacobs didn’t suit up last week, but this week he played in the offense’s first series and made the most out of his mere four carries. Jacobs finished with 21 yards on a 5.3 average yard per carry.
Jacobs first three carries went for six, eight, and then six yards again respectively — all three were in a row. He showed nice vision cutting back on his second carry and his physicality dropping his shoulder among traffic on his first carry that went up the gut.
Josh Jacobs first three runs show some nice scheme versatility.

1. Gap run
2. Wide zone
3. Mid-zone from shotgun
He displayed quality power, ability to read his keys, feel the cutback, and burst through the gap. pic.twitter.com/1pst9Vi3wg
You’ll notice that the offensive line looked really good on those plays as well, so the zone scheme looks to not be a problem and not something that should bear the blame if struggles do arise.
If they can keep that up then Jacobs should be exactly what Jon Gruden and company hoped he would be when drafting him.
