4. The Bay Bridge Series will be in June and July

It’s a fan-favorite each year, and next season, it’ll come a bit earlier. The teams will play in Oakland for a two-game set in June before heading to San Francisco to wrap up their total of four games for the season in San Francisco.

The Bay Bridge Series has become a quirky cross-bay feud in recent years, especially as a result of the number of players on both teams that are originally from the Bay Area.

The A’s have especially embraced the “rivalry” over the course of the last few seasons, whether that be in the form of a playful “Hat Swap” service for ex-Giants fans to trade in their colors for green and gold or bat flips by Mark Canha.

The teams should look very different next year as the A’s are on the precipice of calling up a slew of prospects and the Giants are still figuring out the direction of their franchise after a couple of World Series rings. That’s the burden of winning, I guess.

At any rate, the Bay Bridge series is conducive to drawing the most fans when played in the summer months since kids are out of school and able to be subjected to their parents dressing them in split A’s and Giants apparel.

No, that isn’t a condonation.
