1. Opening Day will be in Oakland

Technically, the A’s will be hosting their eleventh consecutive opening game at home, but this year, they’ll be doing it at the Oakland Coliseum as opposed to the Tokyo Dome in Japan.

We may be quietly entering the last handful of Opening Day games at the Coliseum so long as we’re still on track for the anticipated Howard Terminal site.

The A’s will be taking the field on March 26 against the Minnesota Twins — a matchup that could serve as an encore to this year’s upcoming AL Wild Card game.

It will be interesting to see what might be in store for that first four-game series; we could end up getting our first look at a rotation headed by the three-headed lefty monster of Jesus Luzardo, Sean Manaea, and A.J. Puk.

This will be the first time that the A’s and Twins meet on opening day since the 1991 season, back when the two teams both played in the AL West.

They will wrap up their entire season series by April 5, when the A’s head to Minnesota.
