Because of Curry and Thompson’s gravity, this works even better as no one wants to take their eyes off of one of the best shooters of all-time. This freed up space for Green and Kevon Looney to dive to the hoop where they get a dunk.
Russell is just another option to use on the weak side to occupy defenders or to profit from the gravity of Curry and Thompson. Russell could be the one running the pick-and-roll here.
Alternatively, Curry could run this pick and roll and Russell could take his place on the weak side with Thompson in the screening action. Russell is a great shooter and deadly passer so he generates a lot of gravity himself.
Steve Kerr has a lot of options for how to run his offense with Russell, Curry, and Thompson. They are sure to be a dynamic offensive force which is unstoppable when they’re on the floor.
They could even unlock new elements in the Warriors’ already incredibly detailed playbook, which have yet to be discovered. It will be a treat for fans to watch them every single game.
