Rookies: (First-year players who may have an immediate impact on their team and your team this fantasy season)

Deebo Samuel, WR — In back to back years the 49ers have invested in wide receivers — Dante Pettis will most likely start and Deebo Samuel has been rumored to be in-line to start in the previous position of Pierre Garcon.

More from Golden Gate Sports

Samuel has the ability to get open with precise routes and the quickness to create separation. He is rated as the 60th wide receiver taken in drafts and would be a great potential keeper or a late flyer flex starter for later in the season.

He is the more polished of the two wide receivers drafted this year and should have a more immediate and steady impact.

Jalen Hurd, WR — Jalen Hurd had a great first preseason game with three catches for 31 yards and two touchdowns. Hurd is 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.47 seconds. The former running back is raw but has unlimited potential.

The problem is that he is still learning to be a wide receiver and might struggle on a game-to-game basis. He will have great games and he will have games where he is a no show.

Mike Tagliere views him as “.a bigger version of Cordarrelle Patterson.” If you have ever drafted Patterson you know how frustrating a comparison that can be.

He is probably not worth drafting but is someone to keep an eye on during waivers.
