As San Francisco 49ers training camp winds down and the preseason gets underway, fantasy football draft season is upon us. Which 49ers are worth your time?

If you are like me, you are intently analyzing magazines, blogs, Twitter, and depth chart updates to try to find that player that will shift your fantasy destiny from chump to champion. Normally, it is a good rule of thumb to avoid players on your favorite team.

Usually, your faith in your team leads to overvaluing a player instead of looking objectively at the matchups, but the siren song of winning your fantasy league with a player from your team is hard to ignore.

With that in mind which San Francisco 49ers players should you be targeting in the early rounds? What sleeper should you be targeting in the mid-to-late rounds? What rookie will have a breakout season and what players should I avoid like they were relatives on social media.

Here is our Bay Area breakdown for studs, duds, sleepers, and rookies for the 2019-2020 Fantasy Football Season if you are playing in a PPR (Points Per Reception) league.

Studs: (The top players at each position who should give you a steady performance each week)

George Kittle, TE — George Kittle is arguably the best tight end in the game, if not he is clearly in the conversation. Kittle burst on the scene in 2017 and became a fantasy superstar in 2018.

With a mended Jimmy Garoppolo and two young receivers vying for catches, it is quite likely that Kittle is in line for a lot of designed targets and safety valve dumps. The only issue is that he will be drafted early in your league.

He will give you elite production week in and week out but DO NOT reach for him and sacrifice production in other more important fantasy positions.

The tight end does not usually account for a high percentage of points per fantasy team, so having an elite option allows you to win a particular battle.

But the war is overall team points and sacrificing elite options at high need positions such as running back or wide receiver could lead to problems late in the draft.
