The Golden State Warriors are crossing the Bay next season to San Francisco, and if these leaked jerseys are to be trusted, they’ll continue to represent the Bay Area pretty equally.

The Golden State Warriors have had their now-iconic white, blue, and yellow ‘Bay Bridge’ jerseys for the entirety of this decade. They define this iteration of the team, and the dominance sustained over such a long period of time.

If you watch the NBA in any capacity, one of your favorite things about the sport is probably the jerseys. And if you don’t watch basketball, the jerseys might be the only thing you pay attention to.

Have you ever watched a game with a friend who doesn’t care for sports, and they say something along the lines of “I’m going for the red team because I like their costumes?” Case in point.

From the classic Celtics green to the pinstripe Bulls of the ’90s, jerseys have always defined the style and attitude of a city.

With the Warriors skipping over the Bay into San Francisco’s new Chase Center, a redesign was almost inevitable — the only question was how much was going to change?

If you trust the internet (because it’s so honest, right?), this might be your first look at the new uniforms for the Warriors upcoming campaign:

The tweet is from a Golden State Warriors Reddit/Twitter account and CBS Sports is reporting that the links are from a site called Danklife, which apparently has ties with Nike in regards to making digital mock-ups for what jerseys will look like before they are actually made.

But when you visit the site, the images are gone. The plot thickens.

I personally wouldn’t be surprised if these were the jerseys. And I wouldn’t be disappointed either. Yes, the changes are small, but the Dubs don’t need to change their identity just because Kevin Durant and Andre Iguodala are gone.

The core — the team that defines this look — is still here. So changing the identity isn’t really necessary. Honestly, the biggest change I see to the main “Away” jersey is that the circle and bridge are inverted in blue instead of yellow like in years past.

What is nice to see is that the team is continuing to embrace the entire Bay Area, not singling out any one particular area. I was worried about that initially.

The Dubs never donned a jersey with Oakland across their chests, so it would have been a little disappointing to see a San Francisco one. Though I’m sure we’ll get one eventually, as they’ve had them before.

But for the 2019-20 season, the team is opting to stick with the nicknames of The Bay Area. The yellow “The City” jerseys are a throwback to the jerseys that the team wore from 1966-1971 and they represent San Francisco.

The black “The Town” jerseys are a tweaked version of the one they’ve been wearing the past few seasons. They represent Oakland, as referenced with the roots of the oak trees, where Oakland derives its name from.

The true new addition is the yellow “The Bay” jersey which has an image that might represent the perspective of driving on the Bay Bridge. But I’m not sure. Either way, it represents the rest of the surrounding area.

You can only ever take leaks like this with a grain of salt, especially since the Warriors haven’t come out and said anything about these images. But there might be some validity to the jerseys being the real deal.

Back in June, Sportslogos.net had the scoop on the new logo designs for the upcoming season. It contained a tweaked bridge design for the main logo and the aforementioned “The Bay” logo.

Then, the night before Game 6 of the NBA Finals, the Warriors dropped the tweaked bridge design logo for next season, probably to distract you from the anxiousness you were feeling from the series.

No, you’re not going crazy. Don’t turn your brightness up. It’s barely any different.

"“Changes to the global logo are minor but appreciated. The very outdated Copperplate font is gone, the bridge also has been given a tweaking.”"

These are all the elements that are incorporated into the leaked images. That could be because it was a legitimate leak, or maybe we’re all being trolled by a master Photoshopper who did their research beforehand.

But who knows. In a few days or weeks, the Warriors could roll out a bunch of photoshoot fresh Instagram pictures with the new look Dubs in their updated threads, wearing jerseys that look nothing like this. If that’s the case, I guess I’ll be writing a new article.

Stay tuned.
