2. Hunter Renfrow

Many Raiders fans seem to have high expectations for Hunter Renfrow despite him being a fifth-round pick. But as of now, we really have no idea how big his role will be, or if he even makes the final roster with how deep the team is at the receiver position.

Though, of course, it is still very likely he does make the final cut.

Renfrow is a slot receiver who is a good route runner with solid hands as well as a smart player who is able to find the soft spot in the defense. J.J. Nelson is probably the assumed starter as of now, but as a smaller burner-type, he’s a totally different type of slot receiver than Renfrow is.

Ryan Grant, on the other hand, has a pretty similar skill set — aside from the fact that he’s a couple of inches taller — and would definitely play a similar role to Renfrow.

Renfrow has the skill set to become a safety blanket for Carr the same way that tight end Jared Cook was these past couple years.

It will be interesting to see whether or not he and Carr will gain a rapport during camp and whether or not the coaches have plans to have Renfrow fill a notable role on offense as a rookie.
