1. Jacob Evans

With a completely revamped Warriors bench, Jacob Evans is one of many players who are going to have to step up this season and fill the roles left vacant by the team’s departed depth.

As such, Evans came into this summer with a lot to prove.

Following a full-time shift to point guard, Evans was tasked with being the primary ball-handler for much of the summer and the results were pretty promising. Evans averaged 16.3 points, 4.8 assists and 5.8 rebounds per game and looked like the clear best player on the court.

The Cincinnati product looked confident when commanding the offense and his chemistry with the aforementioned Poole only grew as the summer went on.

Sometimes it appeared that Evans would get a bit overwhelmed by the speed of that game but other times he looked right at home.

Still, Evans budding defensive prowess and improved ball-handling were enough to show that he should be the team’s primary ball-handler when Stephen Curry and D’Angelo Russell aren’t on the court.

It isn’t a stretch that he could fill a Shaun Livingston-like role with a little more development. And if the Warriors could get that out of the young Evans, it’s safe to say that last year’s first-round pick would have been a major success.
