Final Thoughts

A 10-man rotation of Fox/Joseph, Hield/Bogdanovic, Barnes/Ariza, Bagley/Bjelica, and Dedmon/Giles looks very promising and their moves on Sunday give the team perhaps the deepest roster they’ve had in years.

More from Golden Gate Sports

Throw in rookies like Justin James and Kyle Guy who could secure the final couple of roster spots and Sacramento looks like a pretty complete team from top to bottom. And even the recently signed Richaun Holmes could see some time as a fifth big coming off the bench.

They will still have to decide what to do with backups Frank Mason and Yogi Ferrell, but don’t be surprised if both leave and the Kings use that extra money to sign another wing.

Either way, the Kings’ roster looks improved from last season and given their additions and hopeful development from their young players, it’s easy to see this team as a playoff contender next season. Locking up a seventh or eighth seed seems very reasonable after finishing with 39 wins last season.

Even in a stacked Western Conference, the Kings should still be very much in the mix next season. From top to bottom, this is one of the deepest rosters in the NBA.

And they have their initial free agency moves to thank for it.
