3. SS Marcus Semien

Marcus Semien has established himself as the A’s everyday shortstop and has embraced being a member of the Athletics these past few seasons.

More from Oakland Athletics

Just a couple of seasons ago, the A’s hired Ron Washington to coach Semien specifically with his struggling defense. With his help, Semien has improved his defense tremendously and has become one of the A’s most consistent hitters.

Currently, Semien is hitting .275 with 11 home runs and 40 RBI. As a Berkeley native, he would be a wonderful representative for the A’s and the Bay Area.

He seems to be incredibly overlooked though, considering he was not close in the starters fan vote and is not really being talked about by All-Star game predictors.

Semien being chosen as an All-Star is probably a long shot, but he should clearly be in consideration give his impressive numbers and improved defense.
