Nathan Peterman

It’s really a shame what has happened to Nathan Peterman.

More from Golden Gate Sports

Thurst into a position he had no business being in, Peterman struggled mightily as a rookie and soon became the butt-end of a myriad of jokes at his expense. In reality, the Buffalo Bills handled the situation terribly and basically left the young quarterback out to dry.

Now, Peterman will look to get a second chance to make a first impression with the Raiders. While he faces an uphill battle as the remaining stench of his first run in the league will likely never go away, his chances of making the team might be better than most think.

Gruden is reportedly very high on the former Pittsburgh quarterback and has stated in the past that he believes Peterman “has a good chance of sticking around with the team.” To do so, he’ll likely have to beat out the aforementioned Glennon for the backup job as it’s unlikely the Raiders opt to carry three quarterbacks.

Another route could be a spot on the practice squad as he does still remain eligible despite his previous NFL experience. Whatever the case may be, we’ll certainly be pulling for Peterman to shed his current image and turn his career around.

What a redemption story that would be.
