Justin Braun

Both Justin Braun and the aforementioned Vlasic did struggle with new defense pairings after Karlsson came to San Jose. The two were paired together in past seasons and the adjustments were evident in the beginning. For Braun, he will want to forget about this year, finishing with only 16 points and a minus-14 rating.

Braun has one year left on his current deal and is a likely trade chip regardless of Karlsson’s decision. With players on the San Jose Barracuda looking to make a case in training camp next season, dealing Braun could yield some return.

Brenden Dillon

A player who continuously improves each season, Brenden Dillon took a big step towards sticking around after his current deal expires. His skating improvement was noticeable keeping up with faster players and making smarter plays both offensively and defensively.

Dillon did find himself taking careless penalties during the playoffs which wasn’t exactly a great look for the coaches. He did get caught in bad situations and not even his improved footwork bailed him out of the mess. Expect Dillon to continue progressing into the following year and hopefully contribute more on offense.
