Miami Dolphins. Montez Sweat. 13. player. 59. . Edge Rusher

The Dolphins sit in an interesting position in that they could basically use help at every single position group meaning that they could very well have their pick of the litter when it comes to drafting prospects. In this case, they decide to go with Mississippi State edge rusher Montez Sweat.

Longtime Pro Bowler Cameron Wake has departed via free agency and former first-round pick Charles Harris hasn’t exactly lived up to the hype. Sweat could step in and be a great fit in the Dolphins 4-3 front as the defensive end opposite Harris as Miami looks to rebuild from the bottom up.

. Edge Rusher/Defensive Lineman. Atlanta Falcons. Rashan Gary. 14. player. 44

The Falcons could use some help both in the interior of their defensive line and on the edge and Rashan Gary is just the prospect to get that done. Grady Jarrett is great, but the team lacks a viable starter next to him on the interior.

Moreover, the likes of Vic Beasley and Takkarist McKinley both show flashes as excellent speed rushers but the former hasn’t been able to consistently produce following his stellar 2016 campaign. Gary would bring size to the Falcons edge rusher core while also offering plenty of athleticism in the process. He’s a rare physical specimen, but Atlanta would need to harness his athletic potential and more production than he had in college.

The Redskins could very well trade up to select their quarterback of the future, but in a mock draft with no trades, they stay put and select Missouri’s Drew Lock here at No. 15. With Alex Smith‘s future very much in jeopardy and the likes of Case Keenum and Colt McCoy holding down the QB room, it would be foolish of Washington to pass on a quarterback in the draft.

Lock has the arm talent to be a special quarterback in the NFL, he just needs to clean up certain parts of his game. Lock’s footwork remains a mess and he’s still coming along with the mental processing side of things, but he at least has the upside you look for in a first-round quarterback. And that’s enough to get you drafted top-15 these days.

player. 87. . Offensive Tackle/Guard. Carolina Panthers. Cody Ford. 16

The Panthers need plenty of help along the offensive line — both at tackle and at guard — meaning that the versatile Cody Ford could be the player to target here. Ford played primarily right tackle while at Oklahoma but has experience playing both the guard and tackle position making him an ideal fit for Carolina.

Taylor Moton, Matt Paradis, and Trai Turner are locked into starting roles but left guard and right tackle remain question marks. Daryl Williams was brought back on a one-year prove-it deal but there’s no telling how he’ll return from injury. Veteran left guard Greg Van Roten didn’t exactly play too well last season either meaning that Ford could slot in at either position and potentially be a Week 1 starter.
