Raiders and 49ers announce 2019 preseason schedules
By Justin Fried
The Oakland Raiders and the San Francisco 49ers have each released their schedules for the 2019 preseason. Here’s a look at who they’ll each be playing.
The 2019 NFL season may still be five months away, but the NFL has already released the preseason schedules for each team and the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers are no exception.
The Raiders have been very active so far in the offseason as new general manager Mike Mayock has made numerous big-name acquisitions. The likes of Trent Brown, Antonio Brown, among others will hopefully breathe new life into an Oakland squad that struggled mightily in 2018.

- 49ers expected to place DE Dee Ford on injured reserve
The San Francisco 49ers were a little more low-profile than their Bay Area counterparts but still managed to make numerous key signings including linebacker Kwon Alexander and running back Tevin Coleman. The team also traded for Kansas City Chiefs Pro Bowl edge rusher Dee Ford to help out their lackluster pass rush.
With obviously higher expectations for the 2019 season, both teams will be looking to improve upon their lackluster 2018 showings where they each finished 4-12, good for two of the worst records in the entire NFL.
That improvement will all begin in the preseason come August, and now we know who each team will be playing. Here are each team’s respective schedules.
Oakland Raiders
Week 1: Los Angeles Rams
Week 2: @ Arizona Cardinals
Week 3: Green Bay Packers
Week 4: @ Seattle Seahawks
San Francisco 49ers
Week 1: Dallas Cowboys
Week 2: @ Denver Broncos
Week 3: @ Kansas City Chiefs
Week 4: Los Angeles Chargers
Both teams have scheduled a couple of familiar foes with the Raiders facing both the Rams and Seahawks, two teams they have gone up against each of the last few preseasons. The Seahawks, in particular, have become annual opponents for Oakland having been their opposition in the final week of the preseason every year since 2006.
San Francisco, on the other hand, has Oakland beat when it comes to finding annual opponents. The 49ers have squared off with the Los Angeles Chargers every year since 1986 in what has become an end-of-the-preseason tradition. They will also face the Dallas Cowboys to begin the preseason for the second consecutive year.
The Raiders and 49ers will each look for better results from their 2019 seasons than what they got from their 2018 campaigns. Even though the preseason is still months away, both teams are looking forward to the 2019 NFL Draft which will take place later this month.
As fans, we will simply have to use that as a way to hold us over for the time being.
