Oakland Raiders: Predicting biggest moves of 2019 NFL free agency

Raiders sign Frank Clark to massive deal
Coming into the offseason, defensive end is arguably the Raiders’ biggest need. After notching only 13 sacks throughout the 2018 campaign, it’s clear they need more talent on the edge if they’re going to win more games in 2019.
The expectation is that the Raiders will target a top defensive end with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. However, instead of relying on a young, inexperienced option to fill the void, it almost makes more sense to add a proven defensive end via free agency.
Especially with all of the available options and the cap space they have at their disposal, the Raiders have to see what the open market has to offer. Seeing as players like Demarcus Lawrence and Jadeveon Clowney could very well be available, it would be irresponsible to not at least make a run at one of those big names.
In this case, though, I’m predicting they land Frank Clark.
One of the most natural pass rushers scheduled to splash into the free agency pool, Clark figures to land a huge contract this offseason — whether it’s from a new team or the Seattle Seahawks. While it won’t be easy prying him away from his original team, the Raiders have the money to make a competitive offer.

Last year, Clark managed as many sacks as the entire Raiders team did. Adding him at defensive end will ensure a huge boost in quarterback takedowns and a easier life for the Oakland secondary. As expensive as he’s going to be, it’s a worthy investment for the Silver and Black.
