The Golden State Warriors are on top of the NBA, but Anthony Davis could be on the move soon. Let’s explore three potential landing spots and how they could impact the Warriors’ three-peat chances.

The Golden State Warriors are the team to beat. After adding DeMarcus Cousins to a lineup with four legitimate All-NBA players, they created the most talented starting lineup in the league, and possibly ever. Coming off back-to-back titles, Golden State looks poised to make a run at their third consecutive Larry O’Brien trophy.

While they’ve seemed beatable at times, they’re currently on a 10-game winning streak. Stephen Curry looks like an MVP candidate, Klay Thompson has found his shot (and vertical), Draymond Green is healthy and full of fire, and Kevin Durant might be the top talent in the whole Association. Everything is clicking for Golden State right now.

But the Western Conference is tough. If they let up for even a moment, they can be overtaken. If they lose focus or, worse, suffer a major injury, they can be dethroned by several different teams. Especially if the right team makes a big move before the trade deadline.

The biggest move to be made, of course, is based around superstar big man Anthony Davis. Davis has been one of the NBA’s premier players since coming into the league and he seems to only get more dominant each year.

Unfortunately for him, the New Orleans Pelicans have not been able to build a winner around his immense talent. After six and a half years, Davis is ready for something new. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Davis’ agent, Rich Paul, has informed the Pelicans that he would not sign any contract extension and, more importantly, he would like to be traded to a place where he could contend for a title.

Davis is the type of talent that, in the right situation, can help take down Golden State. Let’s look at three potential landing spots for Davis and what they would mean for the Warriors.
