The 2019 NFL Draft figures to be unpredictable, which is why pinpointing a few surprise options for the Oakland Raiders at No. 4 overall makes sense.

It’s only January, and we already know most of the names everyone assumes the Oakland Raiders will target with the No. 4 pick during the 2019 NFL Draft. Whether it’s Josh Allen, Quinnen Williams or Greedy Williams, the focus has seemingly already narrowed for Jon Gruden and Co.

However, as you probably know, the draft doesn’t always go the way we expect. More often than not, there are a number of surprises — especially during Day 1. The odds of a shocking selection by the Raiders skyrocketed when Gruden was brought in to be the new decision-maker in the war room.

Let’s look at the 2018 NFL Draft for evidence of this. Not many folks saw the Raiders taking an offensive tackle in the first round, but that’s exactly what happened. Kolton Miller was brought in to solidify the future on the blindside, despite the team’s numerous needs on the defensive side of the ball.

The point I’m trying to make here is to not be surprised if Gruden goes in a different direction than most assume he’ll go in.
