Oakland Raiders: Mocking the Top 10 picks of the 2019 NFL Draft

Though the top end of the first round has been dominated by teams taking defensive talent, the Buffalo Bills will break with that trend. The reason is simple – Buffalo had a very good defense last season, ending the year ranked second overall and No. 1 in pass defense.
What they don’t have are live, dynamic bodies at the offensive skill positions. Buffalo’s offense ranked 30th overall and 30th in scoring offense last season. Their passing game was at the bottom of the league in most every category and that lack of production can be traced specifically to not having any viable receiving options.
Rookie quarterback Josh Allen showed some flashes of being a franchise quarterback for this team and what they need to do – aside from getting LeSean McCoy back and healthy – is give Allen some legitimate targets to throw to.
After they released Andre Holmes and Kelvin Benjamin late in the season, the Bills’ receiving group was comprised of Zay Jones and – well – Zay Jones.
It’s more than obvious they need some receiving talent and they’ll get it by taking Ole Miss wideout A.J. Brown. At 6-1, he’s got size and decent speed, though he’s not a field-stretching burner. But what he lacks in speed, he makes up for in polished route running and physicality down the field. He’ll win the jump balls and is terrific once he gets into open space.
Flanked by Jones and Brown, Allen will have two legitimate targets to throw to and Buffalo’s offense will take a big step forward in 2019.
