1. Warriors walk away with blowout win

With the 3s falling with ease and Durant doing his thing, it would make sense to see the Warriors headed for the winner’s podium, right? That sounds accurate. However, in this case, I’m taking it a step further.

Back in November, the Lakers fell to the Denver Nuggets by a whopping 32 points. It was an embarrassing effort that saw LeBron fail to put the Purple and Gold on his back. On Christmas night, don’t be surprised if the Warriors do even more damage to Los Angeles, blowing them out and sending them home with what will probably be their biggest L of the 2018-19 season.

Does 40 points seem excessive? Maybe, but we’ll go with that.

With all of that said, the Lakers aren’t a bad team. The fact that they’re in the thick of the playoff hunt right now is evidence of that. But even the best of teams stumble from time to time. Going up against the Warriors in primetime will put their gaggle of young guns to the test, and they’re going to fail miserably.

Right now, I believe the Warriors need a confidence boost. Yes, they’ve been playing some exceptional basketball since Curry’s return from injury, but they’re still far from where they need to be to pull off a three-peat.

This annihilation of the Lakers on Christmas day, though, will get them on the right track towards asserting themselves as the cream of the crop in the Western Conference.
