Le’Veon Bell, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers

Initially, I wanted to mention a wide receiver here. The 49ers are a bit lacking in that department, and will need to be sure to surround Garoppolo with quality pass-catchers when he returns from injury in 2019. Unfortunately, the options are far too limited next offseason.

So instead, I went with a potential two-for-one package in Le’Veon Bell.

Easily one of the most talented and productive of running backs in recent memory, Bell has been a star for the Pittsburgh Steelers essentially since he arrived in town. Unfortunately, a contract dispute led to him holding out for the entire 2018 campaign. Now, he heads into the 2019 season with significant rust.

Still, if the 49ers can convince him to come to the West Coast, you better believe John Lynch would jump at the opportunity to sign Bell. He’s a dynamic talent with the ability to create highlights as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. While his salary demands may be hard to justify, there’s no denying he’s one of the best runners in the NFL right now.

Chances are Bell is going to expect far too much dough to be thrown at him next offseason. However, if money weren’t an issue for the 49ers, signing the former second-round pick out of Michigan State would be the perfect way to give them an offensive edge in 2019.
