Denzel Perryman (ILB)

Denzel Perryman is a name the Raiders will be familiar with, as he’s spent a few years now, terrorizing Oakland’s offense in his time with their division rival LA Chargers.

Though he’s not put up gaudy, eye-popping numbers against Oakland, he has made some tremendous plays against them, and has been an important part of a defense that’s shut down the Raiders offense over and over again.

At five-foot-eleven, 240 pounds, Perryman isn’t the biggest guy on the field. Not by a long stretch. But, he plays with a lot of fire and heart – two things Oakland’s defense desperately needs these days.

In his 41 career games with the Chargers thus far – with 34 starts – Perryman has 226 tackles (168 solo), four sacks, two interceptions, and a forced fumble. He’s had a few injuries over the course of his career that have kept him from playing a full slate of sixteen just yet, but so far this season, he’s started eight out of eight games, and is on track to finish the season healthy and strong.

Perryman has grit and plays with a chip on his shoulder. He’s pretty good against both the pass and the run, and is a leader on the field.

He’s just the kind of guy this Raiders defense can use, and plucking him away from a division rival would be the cherry on top.
