Oakland Raiders: The good, bad, and ugly from week three loss to Miami
By Kevin Saito
Good: Total Offense
Offensively, the Raiders put on their best showing of the young season. As a unit, they racked up 434 total yards – 325 passing yards, 109 on the ground. Marshawn Lynch rumbled for 64 tough yards on 19 carries, and Doug Martin chipped in with 43 yards on nine carries.

Carr completed almost 70 percent of his passes, was sharp and efficient in spots, and took a few shots downfield that worked out well.
There are obviously a lot of areas that need to be addressed and improved upon. No question about it. But, Oakland’s showing against Miami continued the upward trend of this offensive unit. While it was stagnant and among the dregs of the league last season, they’re currently the sixth-best offense in the NFL – sixth-ranked passing, sixteenth-ranked rushing.
That’s a solid accomplishment, no matter which way you slice it.
Where they fall woefully short though, is in scoring offense. With just 52 points in three games, they’re currently the twenty-eighth ranked scoring offense – a stat that isn’t going to win you many games.
While the offense can obviously move the ball, they need to learn to finish. And they need to learn it in a hurry.
