Keep Garoppolo Upright And Clean

With just two sacks on the young season – one by Dee Ford, the other by Allen Bailey – the Cbiefs haven’t established a solid, consistent pass rush. They just don’t get to the quarterback a whole lot.

Which is the good news. The bad news is that Kansas City’s pass rush can potentially get real healthy, real quick.

The 49ers’ pass protection has been – lacking. To say the least. In two games this year, they’ve already given up nine sacks. That average of 4.5 sacks per game, puts them on pace to have Garoppolo dropped 72 times – just off the all-time record of 74.

Simply put, that’s not only unacceptable, but it’s dangerous too. To allow your franchise quarterback – a guy they just paid $137 million dollars to, to lead the offense, is really rolling the dice in a big way. If they’re not careful, one of these times, he may get pancaked, and not be able to get back up.

And suffice it to say, if they lose Garoppolo, this team is going to be in big, big trouble.

Kansas City has some talent in that defensive front, they just haven’t been able to get on track just yet, to put some heat on opposing quarterbacks. Unless San Francisco’s offensive line can step up their game, this could be the time we see that Chiefs pass rush come to life.

It’s beyond imperative San Francisco keep Garoppolo upright and clean.
