San Francisco 49ers: The good, bad, and ugly in week two win over Lions

Good: Got The Win
It’s easy to focus on all of the gloom, doom, and everything going wrong. But, the bottom line is that the 49ers walked away from the game with a win, and have evened their record to 1-1.
In the NFL, all that matters is that you win. You don’t get style points, and it doesn’t matter how you do it. The only thing that matters is locking down that W. And San Francisco did just that.
The good news is that they seem like the have a real gamer in Fred Warner, and getting Reuben Foster back from suspension should help that defensive front tremendously. We should be able to expect better results from the defense when Foster returns.
Offensively, the performance was what we want – and even expect – to see from this unit. They may not have a thousand superstars on their roster, but last season, Garoppolo was able to help elevate the play of everybody around him.
That was missing in the first game of the season, but Garoppolo and the team rebounded well in week two – and once they get Marquise Goodwin back from injury, hopefully this week, the offense should be able to soar even higher, given the chemistry between Garoppolo and Goodwin.
If they can figure things out defensively, and keep the offense rolling like it did against Detroit, the sky is the limit for this 49ers squad.
