Oakland Raiders: The good, bad, and ugly from preseason win over Seahawks
By Kevin Saito
Ugly: Raysean Pringle
He was a longshot to make the roster anyway, but against the Seahawks, Raysean Pringle did not help him make a case for inclusion on the 53-man roster.
Pringle, a native of Oakland, attended Southern Utah – but played running back, where he rushed for 1,130 yards on 228 carries, hitting the endzone 14 times in his four year collegiate career. He also added 329 yards and a touchdown on 36 receptions for the Thunderbirds.

After going undrafted last year, Pringle spent time on Jacksonville and Green Bay’s practice squad, but saw no live game action.
The Raider added him to the 90-man roster in early August, to provide some depth and competition at a cornerback spot that’s been fiercely contested throughout the summer.
He’s played sparingly through the preseason, but will be remembered for one play in particular, in the team’s final preseason game against the Seahawks – and will ultimately define his Raiders experience.
Taking over early in the second quarter, Seahawks quarterback Austin Davis found wideout Damore’ea Stringfellow in one-on-one coverage with Pringle. He laid the ball in perfectly, and Stringfellow never broke stride, leaving Pringle in the dust on his way to an 81-yard touchdown that cut into Oakland’s 10-0 lead at that point.
Ultimately, it’s a meaningless play, in a meaningless game, by a couple of guys who likely won’t be on anybody’s roster this season. But, it was U-G-L-Y nonetheless.
It’s no surprise to hear today, that Pringle is among the first wave of cuts as Gruden and his coaching staff start paring down the roster ahead of Saturday’s cutdown deadline.
