The San Francisco 49ers opened up the preseason with an insanely entertaining come from behind 24-21 victory over the Dallas Cowboys at Levis Stadium.

42. Final. 21. 123. 24

The San Francisco 49ers faithful were rocking Levi’s Stadium with energy last night as the team’s third-string quarterback; Nick Mullens led the 49ers to a last-minute game-winning drive with just, seconds to go in the game.

The win was good enough for fans to enjoy the evening, as well as to get them fired up for the coming year. And for at least for one more week, the Jimmy Garoppolo is undefeated as a starter narrative, lives on.

There was a lot to take away from their first action in 2018, and some players stepped up when their number was called.

Kyle Shanahan continued to show the intricacies of his offense and Robert Saleh saw what his starting linebackers group could do on the field together for the first time.

There’s no need to over-react and blow things out of proportion, but there is a need to break down the takeaways after the first live game action of 2018.

Although the outcome of the game was to the liking of the 49er faithful, the cost of the win may have been more than the team can bear for a preseason victory.
