Golden State Warriors: Three takeaways from round two of the playoffs
The Golden State Warriors defeat the New Orleans Pelicans 4-1 in the second round of the 2018 playoffs. What did we learn from this series?
The Golden State Warriors have officially defeated the New Orleans Pelicans and moved on to the western conference finals. The only thing now lying between the Warriors and another finals berth is the team who was hands down the best team in the league during the regular season, the Houston Rockets.

This series begins next week, but before that begins we must reflect on what we learned from the series against the Pelicans. The Warriors ended this series with a convincing win in game five, to win the series with a count of four games to one.
The Pelicans were a respectable opponent, even stealing one game from the defending champions. While the Pelicans were no team to sleep on, they proved to be no match for the star studded lineup seen in Golden State.
While the Warriors did end up closing the team out with there being little to no chance that Pelicans win the series at any point, that does not mean there was nothing to be learned from the series, despite how easy it appeared to be for the team.
This series saw the return of Stephen Curry to the team, as he made his playoff debut in game two of the series. This was not only a major factor in the team’s dominating play throughout the series, but also a reason as to why the series was interesting.
Curry’s return to the team and the perceived adjustment that was to be required was cause for intrigue. This was just one of the several interesting things we saw take place throughout the series.
