Three reasons the Golden State Warriors dominated the NOP in game four
Came out with a bang
There is one thing the Golden State Warriors can do that will almost surely lead to a win if they are playing up to their standards. That one thing is coming out strong and taking an early lead in the game.
The team came out on fire in the first quarter, going up 17-4 six minutes into the game. This led grew to as much as 18 points in the first quarter.

After a great run by the New Orleans Pelicans in the second quarter, they still went into halftime down by seven points. This is exactly why coming out strong is such a big deal for this team.
When the team starts the game with a lead, they rarely lose it– such was the case last night. Going against a Warriors team with this much fire power, the Pelicans never led in this game.
Coming back from being down by 15+ points is difficult against any team, but it is almost impossible against the Warriors. They are simply too talented on both the offensive on defensive end.
Once a team finally inches their way back to striking distance of the lead, the Warriors hit them with eight points in a 90 second stretch. Next thing you know the team is back to being down by 15 and as their chances of tying the game goes, so does their chances of winning the game.
This is exactly what was on display in last night’s game. Domination from start to finish, thanks to a hot start resulting in an insurmountable first quarter lead.
