Isaac’s Projection: Round Two (pick 59): Equanimeous St. Brown (WR – Notre Dame)

The team already made an effort to protect Jimmy Garoppolo with one of their first-round picks, so when the second round comes it will be time to get him some help on the outside. That help can come in the form of dynamic wide receiver out of Notre Dame, Equanimeous St. Brown.

St. Brown can give the team the big downfield receiver they are currently missing. He can fill the role in Kyle Shanahan’s offense once occupied by Julio Jones during Shanahan’s time in Atlanta. He is no Julio Jones, but he has similar size and speed and under a coach as elite as Shanahan, he should thrive.

Kevin’s Projection: Round Two (pick 59): Billy Price (G – Ohio State)

Though the 49ers have Laken Tomlinson and Josh Garnett penciled in as the two starting guards, they still possess a need at the position. Especially given Tomlinson’s struggles on the line last year.

Having made a very large investment in quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, it would behoove the 49ers to add some pieces to protect him. And Price could – or rather, should – be one of those pieces.

He’s an above average athlete with terrific size (six-foot-four, 312 pounds) with great instincts, and plus athleticism. He’s got a very high football IQ and plays with absolute zeal, often getting a good push on bigger defenders.

Price could contend for a starting job immediately, and can also provide solid depth at center if needed.
