After selecting the leader of their defense in the first round, the team should flip sides of the ball when the second round comes.

Offensive line was a strength of the team during their 2016 season that saw the team finish was a 12-4 record. This was not the case in 2017. The poor play of the offensive line was a major factor in what caused the season to be such a disappointment.
The team can address this issue by selecting tackle from Texas, Connor Williams, with their second-round pick. The team has a lot of money invested into the interior of their offensive line but has a major hole at right tackle.
Connor Williams can fill this hole and help the team’s offensive line get back to the form they were in during the 2016 season. This move would go a long way in improving the offense as a whole next season.
Kevin’s second round pick (#41): Mike Hughes, CB
Oakland will hopefully be getting last year’s first-round pick Gareon Conley back on the field, and pair him with free agent acquisition Rashaan Melvin. That tandem should prove to be an upgrade over the less than dynamic duo of Sean Smith and David Amerson.
And despite adding other pieces like Shareece Wright, Leon Hall, and Senquez Golson, the Raiders still need some help in the cornerbacks room. Wright is 31-years old, and has never exactly set the league on fire, Hall is 34-years old and is on hand mainly to share his experience with Guenther’s system, and Golson – a 2015 second-round pick – has yet to take an NFL snap.
In Hughes, they’d get a corner with solid instincts, terrific athleticism, good hands, is a willing tackler in the run game, and is versatile enough to play either zone or man schemes.
There has been some talk of Hughes possibly sneaking into the first round, but if he slips to 41 overall, the Raiders should most definitely pounce.
