Oakland Raiders: Exploring a few potential Draft Day trade scenarios
By Kevin Saito
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are a team that hasn’t been talked about too much outside of Baltimore, but they’re definitely a team in need of a quarterback. A young one. With Flacco entering his eleventh NFL season, the Ravens may be looking at drafting with an eye toward the future.
While it’s possible, if not likely, that they’ll try to uncover a hidden gem in the later rounds, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that Ozzie Newsome looks to move up to find Flacco’s eventual successor.
The problem is that the Ravens don’t have a whole lot in the way of draft capital to make it all that interesting for the Raiders. They’d move back to number sixteen in the first-round, and if all they got out of it was Baltimore’s second-rounder, they’d add the fifty-second overall pick to their pile.
Which could make getting the players, outside of the first-round, that they truly covet a bit more difficult.
However, if the Ravens were to sweeten the pot up a bit, and throw in their third-rounder (possibly in exchange for one of Oakland’s fifth or sixth-rounders), that could be enough to get a deal done. Maybe.

A deal with Baltimore would move the Raiders back to sixteen in the first-round — which would likely still land them a guy they want — they’d still have their own forty-first overall pick, Baltimore’s fifty-second overall pick, their own seventy-fifth overall pick, and possibly the Ravens’ eighty-third overall pick all in the first three rounds.
Their first-rounder, two second-rounders, and two third-rounders — all inside the top-100 overall picks — could net the Raiders a decent crop of rookies.
