The Golden State Warriors’ biggest threat to another NBA championship is the rash of injuries that could possibility derail their chances to repeat.

The Golden State Warriors’ season season so far can be summed in three words — injury after injury.

Entering the ’17-’18 season, the Warriors were poised to cruise to another NBA championship so long as they stayed healthy. So far though, Warriors have been everything but healthy.

This team just can’t shake the injury bug and it proved that point once again last when the squared off against the Sacramento Kings.

Backup guard Patrick McCaw sustained an injury after being undercut in the air by Kings guard Vince Carter.

McCaw fell flat on his tailbone and back with the full force of his weight.

The injury was serious enough that it required him to be stretchered off the floor. While McCaw hasn’t been a vital asset for the Warriors this season, it’s still alarming that the Warriors are constantly injured. It doesn’t seem to matter who it is.

No player on this Warriors team seems safe from injuries. Essentially the whole team has lost time due to injury.

There is no team in the NBA that can challenge the Warriors as much as these injuries have. If these injuries were an actual team, then they would sweep the Warriors in four games.

Each of those four games won would be indicative of the Warriors’ All-Stars that have lost a moderate amount of time due to injury.

The Warriors finally saw three of those four All-Stars (Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Kevin Durant) out on the court the other night after some lost time.

Now, the focus is on keeping those three healthy entering the playoffs. But, given their luck this season it’s practically a toss up whether or not they actually can remain healthy.

Stephen Curry has already been ruled out by head coach Steve Kerr for the first round of the playoffs, so maintaining the health of their other three All-Stars’ becomes even more critical.

The Warriors can still compete without one of their big four, but missing two of them would make it even more difficult. A season that looked to be an easy stair climb has turned into a bear crawl on a rocky hill.

Whatever ladder this team walked under or black cat that they passed by, this team has to find a way to shake off all this bad luck. Otherwise, if it sticks with them into the playoffs, then their quest to repeat as NBA champions will come to an end.
