Oakland Raiders: Six most logical targets with the tenth-overall pick
By Kevin Saito
The Oakland Raiders hold the tenth overall pick in this year’s Draft, so, in the wake of free agency, let’s take a look at a few of the most logical targets.
With the tenth pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select…
Yeah, it’s pretty much a guessing game at this point. There are a million different mock drafts out there, with a million different people making a million different guesses. And that’s all they are at this point – educated guesses.
The Raiders though, have a long list of needs – primarily on the defensive side of the ball – that they are going to need to address.
HC Jon Gruden and GM Reggie McKenzie have done a fairly decent job of helping plug up some of those gaping holes – and didn’t have to break the bank to do it. But, there is still a lot of work to be done yet.
The Raiders still need help on the defensive line, more depth at the cornerback and safety spot. And, despite re-signing Justin Ellis, they’re going to need some real help on the interior of that defensive line. The fact that they were reportedly in on the Ndamukong Suh derby – before he abruptly pulled out of the meeting – shows that they’re looking for somebody dynamic on the interior of that defensive line.
Which is something they need, by the way.
Could that pursuit of Suh – brief though it was – tip their hand a bit about who they’ll be looking at when they’re on the clock? Or will they go in an entirely different direction?
We won’t know yet, for about a month, of course, but it’s fun to speculate. So, with that in mind, let’s look at a few potential targets with that tenth-overall pick – these are ranked – at least, in one man’s opinion – from current lowest area of need to highest.
And with that disclaimer out of the way, let’s get on with the show…
