PITTSBURGH, PA – NOVEMBER 26: Davon House /

Davon House

At six-foot-one, 188 pounds, House is tall and lean. He’s also got 4.4 speed to go along with his physical nature and aggressiveness. House isn’t afraid to mix it up and is good against the pass, but also isn’t afraid to tackle.

Over his seven year career, House has notched 183 total tackles (144 solo), has seven interceptions, three sacks, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. He’s also recorded 56 passes defensed.

And he’s amassed these stats while, for the most part, being a reserve player.

Over his seven years, House has appeared in 84 games, but has made just 46 total starts – and 16 of those came after the Jacksonsville Jaguars had signed him as a free agent in 2015.

In his first year as a full-time starter with the Jaguars, House had the best statistical season of his career. In his 16 starts, House notched 49 total tackles (38 solo), had 23 passes defensed – a Jaguars team record – had a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and four interceptions.

By all measures, House had a terrific 2015 season. And yet, the Jaguars, in 2016, relegated him to a backup role once more. He appeared in all 16 games, but made just four starts. He was released following that season, and signed a one-year deal to return to the Green Bay Packers – the team that drafted him back in 2011.

Now, House is a free agent once more. He’s 28 years old, so he’s still young enough to be considered in his prime, and given that he’s played a backup role for the most part over his career, he should still have plenty of tread left on the tires.

And because he’s not considered to be a number one type corner, they should be able to get House, if they wanted him, at a very reasonable rate.
