Oakland Raiders: Five Things They Must Do To Beat The Cowboys
By Kevin Saito
The Oakland Raiders are clinging to their playoff hopes by their fingertips and cannot afford another loss – here are a few things they must do to beat Dallas this weekend.
There are three games left in the regular season for the Oakland Raiders. Although it’s far too late to avoid being slapped with the label “2017’s Most Disappointing Team,” they have three games to left to prove – something?
Mathematically speaking, the Raiders still aren’t out of the hunt for an AFC West title and a playoff berth. If the Chargers can beat Kansas City on Sunday, and then the Raiders can beat the Chargers in the season finale, and they get a whole lot of help between now and then, it’s possible they could sneak into the playoffs through the back door.
Whether they deserve to be in that position or not is both irrelevant and better left to be discussed by others.
We’re dealing with reality and this is the cold, hard, reality – the 2017 Oakland Raiders, in terms of the postseason chase, aren’t dead yet. The fat lady has not yet sung, the final nail has yet to be drive into their coffin, and the stake has not yet been driven through their collective heart.
A loss to the Cowboys on Sunday would sure do it though.
However, in the here and now, they are facing a team without the engine that’s made their car go – Ezekiel Elliott. And without the powerful running back, Dallas hasn’t even come close to looking like the same team. In some instances, they’ve even looked as bad as this Oakland squad has at times.
On paper, they seem to match up fairly well, and despite the naysayers, should provide an interesting game.
There is no question about it though – the Raiders absolutely, positively, have to have this game. If they want to keep that dying, barely flickering flame of their postseason hopes alive, failure is no longer an option.
With that in mind, let’s look at a few things this team must to do secure a win over Dallas on Sunday…
