San Francisco 49ers: Who Wasn’t Injured Against the Cardinals?

The San Francisco 49ers fall to the Arizona Cardinals 20-10 at home and yet again, the roster was decimated by injuries. Full recap below!
A San Francisco 49ers record of 0-16 is looking more and more like an actual possibility. They dropped their ninth straight game to start the season against the Cardinals, which adds to their worst start in franchise history.
C.J. Beathard, again, was constantly getting hammered around by this Arizona defense, totaling 21 quarterback hits. Unbelievable. The offensive line injuries didn’t aid Beathard in any way and it is evident that this team needs their bye week more than ever, which will occur after next week’s home against the 1-7 New York Giants. This may be the last realistic game the 49ers can win this season, but with all of the injuries, it doesn’t seem possible.
After last week’s loss against the Philadelphia Eagles saw a plethora of key players go down, this week added to that list. Just after a week of Jimmie Ward‘s season-ending forearm injury, Jaquiski Tartt also went down with a broken forearm, likely ending his season. Other players who suffered injuries today are Kyle Juszczyk (neck), Trent Taylor (ribs), Cole Hikutini (knee), and Elijah Lee (knee).
Offense
Beathard did not have much help today, completing 24 of his 51 pass attempts for 294 yards and one interception. The only touchdown of the game was a one-yard rush by Beathard himself. This game marked three straight in which the offense only managed to earn 10 points. You cannot win with that amount of points.
Carlos Hyde had 12 carries for 41 yards and his longest run of the game was 11 yards. Matt Breida only got one carry for one yard.

In the receiving game, Hyde was the leading receiver with nine receptions for 84 yards. The longest catch of the game went to wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, who hauled in a 55-yard pass after beating Tyrann Mathieu. Kendrick Bourne had two catches for 39 yards, his first career receptions.
This offense hasn’t been capable of producing consistently all season and add-on the injuries, they are even less productive. Not to forget Juszczyk’s fumble on their first possession led to Arizona’s first touchdown.
The Niners offense only had 23:38 of possession, compared to the Cardinals 36:22.
Defense
Dealing with numerous injuries, the San Francisco 49ers defense played decent (that’s being generous), allowing 20 points. They recorded no sacks, but Eric Reid intercepted Arizona quarterback Drew Stanton in the red zone.
Reuben Foster was a bright spot today, totaling 14 total tackles, 13 of them being solo. Defensive lineman Earl Mitchell also recovered a fumble.
Drew Stanton completed 15 of 30 passes for 201 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Running back Adrian Peterson easily carried this offense, totaling 159 rushing yards on 37 carries (4.3 average). Yes, 37 carries.

Special Teams
Three of the 49ers 10 points came from kicker Robbie Gould, who converted a 42-yard field goal. He was the only real bright spot on this unit.
