Week 14 @ Kansas City Chiefs

Redemption – and possibly top spot in the AFC West is going to be on the line – when these two ancient rivals clash.

There’s not much that needs to be said about these two teams that hasn’t already been said. Kansas City will want redemption after losing to the Raiders back in week seven. And Oakland will be looking to put themselves in control of the division.

And in front of their home crowd, the Chiefs will have their redemption.

It should be a tight affair, but the edge goes to the home team.

Week 15 Dallas Cowboys

Mired in a two-game losing streak, Oakland is going to be looking for a little redemption of their own. And it’s going to be a tough hill to climb with the Cowboys coming to town.

This game is going to be a fireworks show as two of the more potent offenses in the league battle it out in what some believe could potentially be a Super Bowl preview.

Dak Prescott took the league by storm last year and ignited this Dallas offense. The key to shutting down Dallas’ offense though, is shutting down Ezekiel Elliott and its running game. That’s no easy feat given the fact that he’s one of the best backs in the league and is running behind one of the NFL’s elite offensive lines.

But do that, and you just might find yourself in a position to steal one.

Behind Prescott, Dez Bryant, and Jason Witten, Dallas’ passing game ranked just twenty-third in the league. And Prescott’s 25 passing touchdowns were just fourteenth. As good as he is – and he is good – Dallas needs Elliott to make that offense go.

The Raiders will know this and focus on shutting Elliott down. And for whatever its worth – which, admittedly isn’t much, given that it’s the preseason – Oakland held Elliott to just three yards a rush (six carries for 18 yards) in their exhibition tilt.

It’s going to be a tight game and a real slugfest, but ultimately, Dallas is going to gut one out, sending Oakland to its third straight defeat.

Cowboys: 24 Raiders: 21 (Record 9-5)

Week 16 @ Philadelphia Eagles

After getting off to a hot start, Carson Wentz came back down to Earth last season, and the Eagles lost nine of their last thirteen on their way to a 7-9 record and a non-playoff season.

  • This year, they went out and grabbed Torrey Smith and Alshon Jefferey to bolster a passing game that was ranked just twenty-fourth in the league last season. They also added Legarrette Blount to add some power to a running game that ranked eleventh in the league in 2016.

The weapons are nice, but this team is going to rise or fall with Wentz and whether or not he takes a big step forward as a quarterback in 2017. He was inconsistent last year, turned the ball over a lot and Oakland’s defense was opportunistic – something that could be a factor in this game.

Philadelphia’s defense was average last season and certainly didn’t set the world on fire. The Raiders should find plenty of room to operate and be able to move the ball on this Eagles team.

Fighting for their lives – and to end a three-game skid – the Raiders will find a way to gut one out in the City of Brotherly Love.

    Raiders: 27 Eagles: 24 (Record 10-5)

Week 17 @ Los Angeles Chargers

With potentially everything on the line – including a shot at the AFC West crown – the Raiders will close the season against a fiery Chargers squad. Los Angeles will throw everything – including the kitchen sink – at the Raiders in an attempt to trip them up.

Los Angeles very well may be well out of the playoff picture at this point and the only thing that will let them head into the offseason with their heads held high is denying the Raiders a possible division title and/or a trip to the postseason.

The Raiders will know this, of course, and they’ll be prepared.

Even though it’s a home game for the newly-minted LA Chargers, it’s going to look an awful lot like a home game for the Silver and Black. And in an environment as comfortable as that, the Raiders will man up and hit the Chargers hard.

With everything at stake, the Raiders will close out the season – and secure a playoff berth – with a much-needed win.

    Raiders: 31 Chargers: 21 (Record 11-5)
